Getting from where you are to where you want to go professionally and meeting organizational metrics can be achieved using a 5-step process outlined in this course to set, monitor and achieve goals. Participants use a professional development grid for performance reviews with managers/mentors.
Sample workplace goals are provided, with participants pairing up to coach each other on goal setting and to establish one self-developmental goal.
Basic Business Writing
In this highly interactive, hands-on course, participants start with the fundamentals of business writing and have multiple chances to work on their approach through one-to-one coaching. We also concentrate on “hallucination” regarding e-mail communication, as well as working to sharpen an appreciation and practical application of professional-level vocabulary and grammar in all written communications.
Basic Presentation Writing
A presentation starts with an understanding of the required proper structure – most importantly, a single main takeaway thought that the audience will remember the next day, and supported by key messages to lead the audience to the foregone conclusion. Also covered are autogenic relaxation and visualization methods to reduce anxiety and increase confidence.

Using only your voice and your presence, an accomplished speaker can move mountains. Through intense videotaped coaching, participants learn how to speak with purpose and polish. Once the speech is over, however, the next challenge is handling Q&A. We cover how to handle yourself when under critical attack, how to de-escalate people when they are angry, and managing anxiety and maintaining confidence when things go wrong.
Using Social Media Professionally
E-mail, texting, Twitter, and Facebook can hurt organizations when employees abuse or misuse them. This course offers practical tips on how best to leverage these tools in a professional manner. When is it best to pick up the phone? What are some confidentiality issues to be aware of? This workshop also addresses how staff, representing various generations (from digital to baby boomers) can understand each other’s perspective so as to communicate more effectively.
Coaching Methods for Managers and Team Members: Inspiration vs. Mediocrity

The Perla Group believes that flexibility and responsiveness to client needs must be a top priority. That is why The FOCUS Series has been developed in a modular structure.
Each workshop module is designed as a half-day session, but can be extended into a full-day, or conference key notes, if desired.
Clients can mix and combine modules in any way they want, and can extend the length of certain modules to accommodate larger groups, if necessary.
